George Kalogeropoulos co-founded HealthSherpa in 2013 with the aim to help every American feel the comfort and security of having health coverage. With his leadership, HealthSherpa has become the largest and fastest growing marketplace for individual health plan coverage in the United States representing 55% of all active FFM enrollments and enrolling more than 8.5 million people in ACA health plans in 2024 to date. Prior to HealthSherpa, Kalogeropoulos founded OpsCost and RentMetrics and worked in trading and portfolio construction at Bridgewater Associates. He is a graduate of Yale University and a native of Athens, Greece.

Dean Mohs is the Director of the Division of Strategic Stakeholder Engagement & Operations at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). He leads the agency’s Agent/Broker Business Operations Team for the under 65/ACA Individual Marketplace.

Dean joined CMS in 2012 after serving as Vice President of Insurance Services at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Prior to his work at the Brooklyn Chamber, Dean was Director of Private Health Insurance Initiatives for the City of New York and a senior health care analyst at the Government Accountability Office in Washington, DC.

Originally from Minnesota, Dean holds Masters Degrees in Public Administration and Social Work from the University of Minnesota. He was a licensed insurance broker while at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

Brian Gubin is an agent/broker health insurance compliance specialist for the under 65/ACA Individual Marketplace in the Division of Compliance, Oversight, & Monitoring at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Prior to joining CMS in 2020, Brian worked for eight years at the Department of Homeland Security—assisting in project management and oversight of the construction of border patrol facilities and surveillance towers. He has an undergraduate degree from James Madison University and a Juris Doctorate from George Mason University Law School.

Mr. Napoli has authored numerous published articles and guides, and he is also a nationally recognized speaker on legal issues and litigation facing group health plans and their fiduciaries.

Prior to Oscar, Sean held sales and leadership roles at both regional and national insurance carriers, with experience across ACA plans, employer sponsored coverage, and Medicare Advantage. Sean earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College, and a Master’s Degree from Baruch College.

Greg Thomas is Director of Insurance Agent & Agency Services, within the Department of Financial Services (DFS), under Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis.  His responsibilities include the licensing and oversight of all insurance agents, agencies, and adjusters in the state of Florida. During his tenure, he has also led the Department’s alternative dispute programs, call center and consumer complaints sections.

 

Greg earned his master’s degree in risk management & insurance from Florida State University and has earned multiple professional designations in insurance, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI).

 

Greg has 38 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 6 years as an agent and 32 years as a regulator.  He has earned licensure as a General Lines Property & Casualty Insurance Agent and a Life & Health Insurance Agent.
